A view from the terrace in the heart of Agrigento
The Pirandello Theater in Agrigento captured at sunset during the #italiagrandsketchingtour.
My stay in Agrigento was very pleasant thanks to the people I met and because of the beauty of the B&B I stayed in. A place that made me feel home, in the heart of the old town managed by two brothers that have been very helpful in telling me what to see and do in town.
This is the view I painted in my last evening just before sunset from the terrace of the B&B. The building covered with ivy of thousands colors is the Teatro Pirandello, that is a theater and also the township headquarter. In particular it is important because here Pirandello works have been shown many times.
Who is Pirandello? If you are Italian you know, if you are not you must know that probably is one of the most famous writers in Italian literature, together with Dante and Manzoni, I would say. A wit and sharp writer that was able to change the course of literature and to represent the society of its time, the 19th Century. In particular it is a writer that I really love because it always make me think about inner life with a touch of fun. Actually after this visit I added his works again in my reading list. I will keep you updated.
