Neptune Fountain in Gorizia

First stop in Gorizia to paint the Square of the Victory and its Fountain

Piazza Vittoria in Gorizia painted during the #italiagrandsketchingtour.

Piazza della Vittoria and its Fountain of Neptune was designed in 1756 by Nicolò Pacassi, the architect that designed Schönbrunn Castle in Wien, just to remember to the city all the years of the Austria empire.

The square in really beautiful and majestic and the perspective you have is giving you a majestic impression, that was meant to impress all the bourgeoisie that in this city came for their vacations by the sea, building villas and parks that still adorn the city.

Gorizia was my first stop and my first day, and it was so cool, hot and relaxing and very challenging!

I’m so excited of this project.
