The Cathedral with a view
The Saint Mary Cathedral in Sciacca painted during the #italiagrandsketchingtour ⠀ ⠀
Rainy days are a bit complicated on my tour. They stop me from traveling but also from painting on location. I was really lucky during the journey but today in Sciacca the weather is grey like my mood. So I decided to take a rest to recover some sleep and then decided to give myself a nice lunch. When the sun is not around, my smile is also on the loose and treating myself nicely helps a lot. Does it happen to you too? ⠀ ⠀
I went to this restaurant just in front of the Cathedral and the courses were great, great music (Queen) and no one around to disturb me. Just what I needed to get my energy and mood back. Just to confirm that healthy eating and good music is always a good idea.
Anyway, the rain stopped during the meal and the restaurant had tables outside. So I asked to get the coffee outside and draw the cathedral of Saint Mary. I love drawing because it makes you look at the details and see so many things that allow you to see more the beauty that surrounds you. For example I saw that the facade is asymmetrical, and it has only one tower. On the side I didn’t draw. You will need to visit the place if you don’t trust me.
But I can assure it is worthy. This cathedral is an iconic place in the city, because it is a cathedral with a view. From the entrance in fact you can see the sea. So it comes to no surprise that this is a very renowned church for weddings, and many foreigners come here to say I do.
